2019 Love Letter to My Family
Little family,
I’m so behind writing this to you in August of 2020 instead of over the Winter as I had planned and it’s hard to string together words that aren’t affected by all that’s happened this year so far.
We were so busy last year.
Finn, you were a baby and not the toddler that you are now. Your hair was still so short, as were your legs. You learned to walk, you got lead poisoning from our new house (sorry) and we worried over you so much. Your brothers loved on you and helped me with you. You started hanging out with Dad and loved getting to explore with him. You so wanted to be one of the big kids and everyone let you play along as if you were.
William, you got to go to kindergarten! You loved getting to be in school, getting a teacher and a classroom and school supplies. You were the model student, such a good example to all of your classroom friends. Your teacher loved you and she was the perfect kindergarten teacher - the best I could have hoped you’d have. You were still so optimistic and happy (mostly) all the time.
Henry, you’re such a helper. You finished third grade in the Spring and did so well working hard all year with your wonderful teachers. You started fourth grade with ease and were so responsible doing your homework without even being asked. You kept track of your classes and projects and looked after William at school. I know you loved our old house and didn’t like the idea of moving to our new one, but you came around and I think you’ve really made this new house your home in your heart.
Chris, it was so lovely having you home with us so much of 2019 while you were in grad school. You worked so hard on our old house, cleaning up our new house, playing with the kids, doing yard work, helping with homework, taking Finn for countless walks, grocery shopping, cooking, and I could go on and on. You’ve been such a wonderful partner, helping our family achieve our dreams and reach goals. Every year I get so spend with you is amazing.
